I have family members that are COVID-19 deniers. We did have a family dinner earlier in the fall (when things were better and it was deemed okay by the local authorities), but I didn’t hug them and they were angry. I told them they had no idea what I might have. If they drop by on Thanksgiving (which can happen, although they live hundreds of miles away, as it has happened before), I’ll chat outside, socially distanced, but no family dinners or physical contact. They can berate me all they want, but I know the virus is real and I know several who have died. It’s rather like being on the Titanic and not believing in icebergs, you’re sinking into the ocean, but it’s all fake news, so you won’t get in the lifeboat.
