I wonder what happens to one’s perception of epidemic when you know someone who died. Last month my church lost a 40-something gentleman, very kind and “jolly”, who also had Type 2 diabetes. The diabetes was under control, and he never missed a day of work. But, COVID-19 won. he left a wife and children, plus extended family who adored him. We miss him, and we do not deny that there is a pandemic. Just a thought.
