We like good news. Bad news not so much. But we shouldn’t close our ears to bad news just because we don’t like it. It may lead to good news.

We welcome the one who brings good tidings…I think the verse you refer to is a poetic way of saying this, elaborating and expressing the feeling of delight over good news. It is like speaking a blessing. In our culture we may not think about people walking over a mountain to carry good news and the rigors of traveling on foot. There was attention to washing feet of travelers in the New Testament, as a form of recognition and even a way to honor a guest. We know the story of the woman who washed Jesus’ feet with her tears and dried them with her hair. Feet had a more prominent status back then. =)
