How to Know When It’s Time to Be Humble

All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” (1 Peter 5:5.)

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. (Philippians 2:3-4.)

The time for humility is now and always. It’s never a bad choice.

  1. Don’t you think following this advice is in fact self-destructive and leaves you open to being walked all over by others. ….

  2. Laura says:

I have a post on humility going up tomorrow. It is an excerpt from the chapter of my book on pride. While it is not in the excerpt I chose for my post, I do use those verses from Philippians and Peter in the preceding paragraph of the excerpt. Yes, humility is never a bad choice.
