Daniel Skillman’s Facebook post on God’s grace and mercy was so good that I thought it worth capturing with an image:
It’s true. Jesus said:
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do. (Luke 1o:21.)
Jesus said that this is what our heavenly Father is pleased to do. He takes pleasure in freeing you and bringing you to himself. You are justified as righteous because of Jesus.
… all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. (Romans 3:24.)
Your Father takes pleasure in doing this for you because Jesus said you are his little child. God doesn’t want his little child to be bound in chains. He wants you freed into a righteousness just like Jesus’.
God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (2 Corinthians 5:21.)
Through this, God’s plan is for you to enjoy all that comes with being a child of God.
God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. (Ephesians 2:6-7.)
This is what God delights to do in you:
Set you free.
Make you righteous.
Seat you alongside Jesus.
Make you eternally rich with all the riches the Creator of the Universe has to offer.
That’s who you are because of God’s great love for you, little child.
Your Father loves you.
