The phrase I usually hear is “head over heels”, but I just heard Alanis Morissette sing that she fell “head over feet” in love with someone. Either way, what’s the big deal?
Aren’t our heads supposed to be over our feet/heels?

I think she did that for her rhyming: “in spite of me” is the line before it. I like the line “You held your breath and the door for me” in that song. I think she was talking about how she is so giddy that she isn’t going to do things the normal way of how people say because this guy is actually treating her well compared to how she may have been treated in the past. It is as if she is so upset and flustered because he made her fall in love with her. That’s pretty much the only of her songs I liked.
I do like that idea that she is falling for him because he’s different from all the other guys.
