Jane Hinrichs (of Perfectly Blunt fame) tweeted the link to this gem of a picture article. For those who love camping, some of these might be welcome additions to your repertoire. For those who don’t, they might make the idea of living outside the confines of an all-inclusive resort a bit less scarifying.
My favorite is #33: Cook cinnabuns (the canned kind) in a hollowed-out orange over a campfire.
mmm, tasty!
Especially if I can eat them while sitting in a #12:
Which of the 41 genius camping hacks might entice you to hit the campgrounds?
My girlfriend has just bought us a giant tent with a kitchen in it and a separate toilet tent. She has hook ups for the TV and a fridge. I just shook my head and said what is the point really? We may as well book into a hotel. I prefer to just jump in a tiny tent after a few beers whilst looking at the stars and zip up in my sleeping bag. Now that’s camping.
Before the beers, I’d want to camp with the plush equipment like your girlfriend picked out. After the beers, I wouldn’t care!
Ha Ha, you are certainly a glamper then, glamorous camping. I am proper earthy, I think camping is about making camp with just the bare necessities ( beans , kniife, beers, and shit roll) and taking it from there, like crapping in the bushes ha ha
I’m not even a glamper any more. I’ve backpacked the Sierra wilderness and slept out plenty of times with no more shelter than a sleeping bag under the stars, but now I’m much more inclined to book a nice hotel room for my vacations, Thomas!
Cook my own cinnabuns? Take me to the nearest Starbucks! 🙂
I didn’t know they even came in a can!
You know that game “2 truths and a lie”? I was playing it with a group of women and they all thought my lie (“I love to camp and hike”) was the truth: “But you seem so natural and outdoorsy!” they said. No, I’m definitely a glamper. I do like these tips, though, esp the sandpaper in the matchbox one.
The only glitch on the sandpaper matchbox thing is that strike anywhere matches are becoming so hard to find!
I know a family with #12 (the chairs). They are really comfortable.
They look so awesome that I want to get one and hang it in my living room!
They sell them at Renaissance Faires out here. I think they are over $100 though (not sure). Pretty crazy for a chair.
