The aftermath of the tragic shooting in Connecticut last month has taken an ugly and hate-filled turn. Conspiracy theorists are accusing the grieving families of having made the whole thing up. I’d like to find those people and throw up all over their shoes.
I had intended this post to get into passage after passage of Scripture about people who believe crazy things. That’s not what eventually came to me, though. Instead, I look to these few simple words from Jesus to those who refuse the truth:
You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. (John 8:44.)
